Just returned from a wonderful trip.  Three weekends of shows, two in Albuquerque where we also watched the International Balloon Fiesta and finishing up in Williston, ND.  We photographed in the Black Hills on the way down, then  Southwestern Colorado, the Black Hills again on the way home, finishing up in the North Dakota Badlands.

Here are some photographs from the trip....

We'll do Wild Horses, landscapes, buffalo and other wildlife.  Details under the workshop tab or for more information email me at www.patgerlach.com.

Michigan, Upper Peninsula, September 25-29
This week traditionally hits the peak of spectacular fall colors in this part of the U.P.  We have five rooms available in the comfortable rustic cabins at the privately held Cardinal Point, which was once a commercial resort on the shores of Lake Michigamme.  You'll have your own room which, along with all your meals is included in the $2950 workshop fee. If you want to share the room with a photographer friend the charge for the second person is $1800, charge for a non-photographer friend or spouse is $1200.

We'll spend most of our days photographing colors, landscapes and some of the many waterfalls in the area.  As in all of my workshops, all skill levels are welcome.  Whether you're new to photography or have been at it 30 years, the subjects will fit your skills.

If you have questions feel free to contact me at www.patgerlach.com

Black Hills, South Dakota, October 3-7
The first week of October is traditionally the time for peak colors in the Black Hills.  We'll do the colors, landscapes, waterfalls and wildlife in this workshop.

We'll stay in a modern five bedroom lodge.  Lodging and all meals are included in the $2950 fee.  Cost for a second person in the same room is $1800 for a photographer, $1200 for a non participant.

For more than 20 years I've been conducting workshops that include brand new photographers and those who have been photographing for decades and the experience has been beneficial to all.

Autumn 2015

My favorite time of the year.  Ours started in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigamme where my three lovely sisters joined us.  We toured the countryside taking in and photographing the vivid reds of Maple trees and some of the many waterfalls in the area.

From there it was a quick trip home to pick up the van and head to Albuquerque for 2 weekends of shows during the International Balloon Fiesta, stopping for an afternoon and morning shoot in the Black Hills along the way.  The colors in the Black Hills were just about peak and nicely framed the waterfalls there. Growing up on the prairie where there were none, rapids and waterfalls always fascinate me.

After the weekend show in Albuquerque we drove northwest to Durango, CO and photographed from there north to Silverton on a cloudy, often rainy but beautiful day.  Next morning I headed further west and worked my way up to Telluride--another gorgeous drive on a mostly sunny day
